Please see below some of the best comments by inspectors from our most recent Ofsted inspection in September 2016:
The school meets the current government floor standards, which set the minimum expectations for pupils’ attainment and progress in reading, writing and mathematics at the end of Year 6.
Relationships between the staff and pupils are strong. There is clearly respect for each other that leads to a close and harmonious community where pupils feel valued.
The Reception team work together effectively to plan exciting and engaging learning opportunities. The classrooms and outdoor area are well resourced, vibrant and set up to support all the areas of learning effectively. Children quickly learn to develop their imagination, independence and curiosity.
Our Ofsted inspection in September 2016 was conducted 7 days after we joined The Olympus Academy Trust (OAT). The priorities highlighted in report had been previously identified in the due-diligence exercise undertaken jointly by OAT and our senior leaders in May 2016 and it was acknowledged that good progress had already been made, but not sufficient to warrant a GOOD rating at this early stage. It was always envisaged that closer collaboration with OAT would fast-track the development of outstanding teaching and learning to our young people and we are close to achieving this. We will welcome a re-inspection at the earliest opportunity to validate the quality of our current practice.
